Purchasing classics there

In 1982, the Moto Guzzi 850 T3 evolved into Moto Guzzi 850 T4

The Moto Guzzi V twins with 'round heads' are very official classics. They have the reliability of old Mercedes Diesels and the character of dynamic tractors. As a classic, they have unprecedented uses. The maintenance is simple, there are specialists and a highly action club. The parts provision is good. And they sound very tasty. The Moto Guzzi 850 T4 can be used extra well because it has an effective steering cockpit. And the T4s were no longer black by definition.

New! Now with wind protection!

And that the T4 was actually nothing more than a T3 with a steering fairing (and brake calipers mounted on the rear of the front fork legs)? That was because Moto Guzzi already had 1000 machines with a fairing, the SPs, but not even 850s in that version. Oh yes: the T4 had cast wheels and a different color scheme. The good pushrod 844 cc V twin breathed in through two Dell'Orto's of ø 30 mm. In Italian tradition, the power was almost 70 hp. Simply measured, there were 59. But when it came to torque, the Guzzi performed considerably better than the factory figures. That couple was there from 'almost no revs'. With normal use and maintenance the block with its Nikasil coated pistons was good for two tin. Fine!

A real mileage eater

Behind the fairing, which was previously used on the SP, the pilot is well protected and there is little turbulence and / or noise and drone. In the lee of the built-in piece of headwind on the steering wheel, the Guzzi was able to trot 140 km / h for days. And he still can. 140, That is a pace that you get along with. In practice, a T40 was a kilometer at 160 and a little per hour fast. And that was and is certainly traffic compatible. The cruising speed of 140 km / h can still only be used by a T4 driver as an upper limit. Also on unlimited 'Autobahne'. The windage of the cockpit ensures that above 150 km / h there is some unrest in the bicycle part.

Nice and comfortable

The seating position on the T4 is pleasant under all circumstances. The handlebars are nice and wide and the feet come to the ground easily. Switching makes the Guzzi a bit rude by nature, but clearly. And setting it free for a traffic light is never a problem. If the whip passes over at such a T4, it runs a bit from 1 to 18. With normal to quiet use, that can just become 1 on 24.

The biggest improvement on the T4 is that Guzzi has now come up with a good fuel cap. And that you don't see it because there is a flat lid over it? That is only useful for the tank bag.

Rusting Brembos

Also traffic compatible: Moto Guzzies integral racing system where the foot brake also drives a disk in the front wheel. The disc brakes were cast-iron Brembos that after a ride through the rain got an even brown rust layer. You removed the 'old school' front brake users in no time: they drove one rusty disk in the front wheel.
