Love driving. Have a nice long weekend

Sometimes you, as an editor and enthusiast, are right on target. Take this past weekend. Photographer Spijker and I are making a report with two DAF 66 derivatives: a 1300 Marathon Coupé and a Volvo 66 GL Combi. On Sunday I ride with a friend's new acquisition: the BMW 318i Touring […] Sea

A DAFJE out. A little chauvinism.

On a Sunday car ride in the attractive surroundings of Havelte (Drenthe), the familiar air-cooled DAF engine sound suddenly sounded everywhere, followed by a large number of DAF's 33. That still thrills us as classic enthusiasts. Everyone has a thing for DAF, it brought back a national piece of automotive technology for a while.  Sea

DAF 33 – Not verkeerd afgelopen

And there is a DAFJE 33 in work clothes around the corner. It looks built in by tall grass what'verkeerd afgelopen' from. Inquiring with the friendly car cleaner learned otherwise. The Dafje has not been forgotten, nor is it for sale. It's from scooter specialist Welbie. And the company car is about to be rescued. On the same alternative route through my own hometown, I saw three more classics that apparently required a lot of overdue maintenance. Sea

    Daf 55. Elegant and mature

DAFs. Real Dutch cars with their unique transmission. Cars that were especially popular with people who should never have obtained a driver's license. But even its success in the London-Sydney marathon failed to give the brand the shine it deserved. Fortunately, DAF has survived gloriously as a truck manufacturer. Sea

DAF 66 SL (1974). Adventure in Lapland

For Joris van Nispen, Volvo is the beloved car brand. Maybe that's because he has a place of refuge in Sweden. His holiday home there also a 'home' to enjoy the little pleasures of life and sometimes also keep life in balance due to his busy work in the Netherlands. Joris bought a DAF 66 SL from […] Sea

    Volvo 66

The DAF 66 is a good starting point for the Swedes to round off the Scandinavian model range. It is decided to scrap the compartment. The sedan and combi are mainly adapted to Volvo standards in terms of safety. The design of the body hardly changes compared to the DAF - in both two and three-door trim, however. Sea

DAF Daffodil (1965). Genius car from Cor and Rianne

Is it no wonder that DAF is still loosening so much? And can you suppress that emotion? When this beautiful DAF Daffodil was parked in Dokkum it was even difficult to take a picture, the passenger car from Dutch soil attracted so much interest. By: Dirk de Jong The qualities of the DAF brand ensure that […] Sea

VOLVO 66 (1979). Hobby car from DAF enthusiast Tom Nauta

It is beyond dispute that Tom is a fan of our Dutch passenger car. His car life started with a Daffodil. Then a DAF 33 and two station wagons of the type 55. The DAF passenger cars were produced until 1975, after which the Swedish Volvo took over the passenger car division and the DAF 66 became Volvo 66 with the necessary modifications. Sea

    DAF 66. Our national pride

Sometimes you come into contact with people who enthusiastically tell about their experiences with a special car. Despite its condition, this DAF 66 from 1974 still conveys a sense of romance in the childhood memory of G. van der Ploeg. By: Dirk de Jong This owner was previously a garage owner and presented the […] Sea
