Spyker barnfind at Paleis Het Loo
The tenth version of the Concours d élégance at Paleis Het Loo in the weekend of 23 and 24 June was again formidable. At least if you had gone there on a sunny Saturday. The most exotic automobiles were spread over the grounds in front of the Palace. It was certainly not a punishment to look at it and enjoy it while the sun was doing its best to make the atmosphere more pleasant.
As in the years before, Autovisie had organized a national competition with all kinds of different classes. There were also a number of cars lined up in the “car of the year” class. Funny to see a Porsche 928 that had to compete with a Renault 16 and a Rover 2000 P6. The national competition was held on Saturday. The Spyker barnfind was also shown on Saturday. The car was found after many years in a neighboring country of Suriname. The car was built in 1906 and the front was more or less original. In the long life of the car, a loading box was mounted on the back instead of the original body. The lucky owner said he did not want to restore the car. The international part of the competition would take place on Sunday. These were the participants in the sprint organized by the tire brand Vredestein.
