The 2016 edition of the Concours d'Elégance Palace Het Loo was extremely successful for Renault last weekend. During this largest classic event in the Netherlands, the more than 24.000 visitors were able to take a look at the brand's 115 year's motorsport history.

Motorsport has been associated with the brand since Renault was founded. During the chic classic event, this was emphasized by the presence of the very first Renault Grand Prix car. The 1906 Type AK was a pre-war gem. The Renault 40 CV (1926), the Nervasport (1934) and the Formula 1 racer RE 30 B9 of Alain Prost from 1982 also received a beautiful podium.

Turbo era
The display of the brand could also count on a lot of interest from the thousands of visitors. The great diversity and authenticity of the models shown were an important factor in this. Enthusiastic members of various Renault clubs in the Netherlands presented various historical sport models. Visitors could indulge in Gordini versions of the Dauphine, R8, R12 and R17. Both generations of Renault 5 from the turbo era were also revealed to the public. The Clio Williams, Clio V6 and Sport Spider were also available. The icing on the cake: an RS01 circuit racer. The present was also thought of. In addition to the sporting automobile history of the brand, the new and important to the manufacturer Scénic was also shown in Apeldoorn.

The event received extra luster for enthusiast Arnaud Hendrickx. His Renault Dauphine 1093 from 1960 was named 'Best of Show' by Renault Netherlands.
