The sixth PURE Porsche Treffen in Best pulled almost 28 Porsches from all over Europe on Sunday 2000 May. Despite tough competition like Max Verstappen in Formula 1 in Monaco, Tom Dumoulin in the XNUMXth Giro d'Italia and the tropical heat, the largest Porsche event in Belgium and the Netherlands was busier than ever.

Last year the PUUR Porsche Treffen already attracted more than 1700 Porsches to the shores of Aquabest in Best. That number was again exceeded this year. The thousands of visitors to the free-access event again found a cross-section of what Porsche has produced over the years. For example, visitors could see the contours of the first 356 up close. The modern Porsches were also well represented. The latest generation of the 911, the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder supercars and various examples of the Boxster, Cayman, Panamera, Macan and Cayenne enhanced "PUUR Porsche".

Classics and youngtimers also richly represented

The lovers of classics and youngtimers from Zuffenhausen were also disappointed. All representatives of the Transaxle models 924, 944, 968 and 928 found a place in Best. In addition, there was also the 914, to which editor Aart van der Haagen devoted an extensive article to the latest edition of Auto Motor Klassiekwas well represented. The 914 has certainly increased in importance in recent years and for that reason is enjoying increasing interest.

911S from 1967 the most beautiful in Best

Appraisers roamed the Aquabest site to judge and select the most beautiful Porsches for the Concours d'Elegance. The overall winner was a spotless 911 S, a car that was delivered by Pon in Amersfoort in 1967. The car has been restored by an enthusiast down to the last screw in absolute new condition. A unique 914 / 6 GT and an 993 Turbo - the last air-cooled Turbo - also won prizes. During the event, extra attention was paid to the twentieth anniversary of the 996, the first 911 with a water-cooled boxer engine. The complete line-up of this model could be found in Best.
